The Ikoner collection brings treasures from the archive back to life. Classic patterns and expressions have been developed further, reworked and adapted to new silhouettes and knitting techniques. Some designs are knitted in traditional wool qualities, while others are knitted in Ballerina and Kos.

Rose is based on a design called Rosendal. We have used the original pattern repeats, added a new checked pattern and changed the fit to a raglan construction. It is knitted in Ballerina, which gives the design a completely new expression.

Astra is based on another traditional pattern from our archive and has been given a new shape and a more contemporary look. The women’s and men’s versions are essentially the same, but the women’s sweater is finished with a small lace border. If you prefer a more traditional finish, you can choose ribbing instead, as shown on the men’s version. The men’s version also has sleeve decreases, which the women’s version does not. It is fun to see how small changes can make the two versions feel so different. Choose the one you like best.

Alvar is another design we have updated. It stays closer to the original than Rose and Astra, but has been given a more refined shape and neckline. Telemark is the clear classic of the collection. We adjusted the measurements and ease, but otherwise made very few changes.

Together, these garments show how old favourites can find a natural place in the wardrobes of new generations, again and again. There is something special about having both tradition and renewal on your needles. Happy knitting!
