Introducing Alpakka Silke, a luxurious blend of 70% baby alpaca and 30% mulberry silk, is epitome of softness and comfort. The combination of the silky smoothness of mulberry silk and the softness of baby alpaca creates a fabric that is gentle and cool against the skin, making it the perfect choice for baby clothes and accessories.

Baby alpaca is not fiber from cute little alpaca babies; it’s the term used for alpaca fiber between 20-23 microns (micrometers) and is one of the finest and softest alpaca grades used for hand-knitting yarn.

  • Fiber Content: 70% baby alpaca/30% mulberry silk
  • Yardage: 50g = approximately 200 m/219 yd
  • Knitting needles: US 2.5 (3 mm)
  • Knitting tension: 27 sts = 10 cm
  • Origin of raw material: Silk from China, Alpaca wool from Peru/Bolivia
