Laulu Shawl

August 11, 2023 @ 4:00 pm 5:30 pm

2 classes, Aug 11 & 18

If you want to learn cables AND lace, this is your one-stop shop!  The Laulu Shawl by Sari Nordlund is a small but always interesting project that will result in an elegant knit. You will learn how to work the pattern in both written and charted instructions, as well as how to work increases and decreases involved in lace. Lastly, you’ll learn how to cable without a cable needle!

Level: Intermediate

Skills Required:
How to knit and purl, prior experience reading a basic pattern, and basic knowledge of decreasing is recommended

The Laulu Shawl pattern by Sari Nordland can be found on Ravelry
4mm (US 6) straight or circular needles at least 24” length
3 stitch markers
Tapestry needle
273 yards DK weight yarn

The designer used 1 strand of fingering weight and 1 strand of lace weight yarn held double, but for ease in class, it is strongly recommended that you only use 1 strand of DK weight yarn.

Recommended yarn: Beachy Breeze Dk, Little Wolf Knits DK, Sandnes Garn Duo, Sandnes Garn Recycled Tweed, Kelbourne woolens scout, Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt
