Amigurumi Friends

Welcome to the world of Amigurumi! From the Japanese words “ami” for knitted or crocheted and “nuigurumi” for stuffed doll, amigurumi is the art of making 3D shapes in crochet. Mainly working in the round, it is often used to create plushies and dolls of all and any kind. Once you learn the basic techniques, you can combine them to make anything you can dream of. In this class, you’ll learn how to crochet an adorable round octopus plushie. 

Suggested prior knowledge: how to hold your yarn & hook, chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, magic circle/ring, slip stitch

Techniques you’ll learn: working in the round, single crochet increase and decrease, how to embroider eyes in place of using safety eyes 

Things you will need: 
4.5 mm Crochet Hook (provided)
Kos yarn (3 different colors provided)
Tapestry needle
Scissors 
Polyfill or yarn scraps
