My First Raglan Sweater

February 15 @ 2:30 pm 4:00 pm

Classes are on Feb 15, 22, 29 and March 7 at 2:30-4:00pm

If you have never knit a garment before, this is your place to start! The Cozy Classic Raglan by Jessie Maed Designs is a beginner-friendly sweater pattern using DK weight yarn. In this 4 week course, you will learn how to knit the construction of a top-down sweater, and how to shape and size a garment to fit your needs. Please complete a gauge swatch before the start of class to make sure you are getting the right stitches and rows per inch!

Level: Adventurous beginner-intermediate

Skills Required: How to knit and purl, prior experience working in the round, and basic knowledge of increases/decreases

US 3(3.25mm) 16”-40” circulars for ribbing
US 7(4.5mm) 24”-40” for main body- longest length of needles depends on sweater size
Stitch markers
Stitch holders
Darning needle

689-2070 yards DK weight yarn, depending on size. If you would like to add length to your sweater, you will need more yardage.

The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn and mohair held together, but for the sake of ease when knitting your first garment, we recommend just using one strand of DK weight yarn, which gets the same gauge.
