Are you a crafter looking to dive deeper into the world of fiber? Or are you curious how yarn was originally created? This is the perfect intro class into how to spin your own yarn. In this three-part course, students will learn the basics of creating yarn from start to finish and leave more comfortable creating their own handspun.
People have been using spindles for thousands of years, they are the most primitive way of twisting fiber into tangible threads. Turkish spindles have arms that make it easy to create a ball of yarn as you are spinning, so when you are ready to take your yarn off of the spindle, it’s easy!
*Spindles are available to purchase at Mother Knitter (and you are welcome to bring your own if you already have one).
Once you sign up we will email you with more details.
Materials Fee includes 4 ounces of beginner-friendly wool
You will also need: *Turkish Spindle and a Niddy Noddy (available to purchase in-store)
Level: Absolute Beginner
