Colorwork Band Knit Along
February 21 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Saturdays, February 14, 21, 28 & March 7, 14, 21, 28
This knit-along centers on banded colorwork — sweaters with clean, wearable silhouettes and a single, intentional moment of patterning that runs across the yoke or body. The colorwork acts as an anchor, giving the design structure while letting the rest of the sweater stay simple and relaxed.
This format works well for knitters who enjoy colorwork but don’t want to commit to an all-over chart. It’s also a great fit for anyone who loves straightforward construction with just enough detail to keep things engaging on the needles.
We’ll be knitting a mix of patterns that all follow this same idea: a strong horizontal colorwork motif paired with an otherwise uncomplicated sweater shape. Everyone is free to choose the pattern that feels right for them. Each design approaches the motif a little differently, offering a range of fits, gauges, and styles while keeping the group experience cohesive.

This KAL is a chance to explore color placement, contrast, and rhythm, while sharing the process of working similar techniques across different designs. Since the patterns use different yarn weights, we’re happy to help you think through yarn options and color choices in the studio.
Yarn must be purchased at Mother Knitter Yarn Studio.
Please note: Registration is free but required. If you have trouble registering online, you can sign up in store or call 856-535-3780.
