Strata Vest

4 Class Series on Aug 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 11:00am-12:30pm.
The Strata Vest is a size-inclusive, super versatile layering piece knit out of fingering weight yarn, perfect for warmer weather all by itself. This vest has an interesting construction. The upper backs and fronts are knit flat, and then you will join to work in the round for the body. You will learn how to work the construction of the pattern, including how to work German Short Rows and pick up stitches. You can knit your Strata cropped or full length and the pattern has optional bust darts, making this pattern comfortable to wear for everyone!
Please complete a gauge swatch prior to the start of class to make sure you have the correct stitches and rows per inch!
Level: Intermediate
Skills Required: How to knit and purl, Basic experience reading patterns and working in the round. Comfortability working with fingering weight yarn.
Materials: Strata pattern by Jacqueline Cieslak
Main Needle – US 4(3.5mm) 32” circular
Smaller needle – US 2.5 (3mm) 24” circular
Stitch markers
Darning needle
540 -1,485 yards of fingering weight yarn, depending on size and length
Yarn recommendations: Kelbourne Woolens Cricket, Sandnes Garn Tynn Peer Gynt, Tynn Merinoull, Tynn Line, Little Wolf Knits Fingering, Beachy Breeze Boardwalk Sock
