Learn everything you need to know about knitting in these three 90-minute classes. These comprehensive classes will get you on your way to be a confident knitter! You will learn the following: \n\n\n\n● Different weights and types of yarn \n\n\n\n● The relationship between yarn type and needle size \n\n\n\n● How to cast on stitches \n\n\n\n● How to work the knit stitch and the purl stitch \n\n\n\n● How to bind off stitches \n\n\n\n● How to measure and make a gauge swatch \n\n\n\n● How to read a pattern \n\n\n\n● How to fix minor mistakes (dropped stitches\, ‘tinking’ or unknitting a row\, how to insert a lifeline) \n\n\n\n● Basic shaping (increasing and decreasing stitches) \n\n\n\n● Basic finishing (weaving in ends\, blocking) \n\n\n\n● How to measure and make a gauge swatch \n\n\n\nSupplies needed: a skein of DK or worsted weight yarn\, size 6 needles (circular is recommended\, but straight needles are also acceptable)\, a tapestry needle\, small scissors\, stitch markers\, and a gauge ruler. DESCRIPTION:Sign Up Here\n\n\n\n\nClasses are on Feb 15\, 22\, 29 and March 7 at 2:30-4:00pm \n\n\n\nIf you have never knit a garment before\, this is your place to start! The Cozy Classic Raglan by Jessie Maed Designs is a beginner-friendly sweater pattern using DK weight yarn. In this 4 week course\, you will learn how to knit the construction of a top-down sweater\, and how to shape and size a garment to fit your needs. Please complete a gauge swatch before the start of class to make sure you are getting the right stitches and rows per inch!    \n\n\n\nLevel: Adventurous beginner-intermediate \n\n\n\nSkills Required: How to knit and purl\, prior experience working in the round\, and basic knowledge of increases/decreases \n\n\n\nMaterials:  PatternUS 3(3.25mm) 16”-40” circulars for ribbingUS 7(4.5mm) 24”-40” for main body- longest length of needles depends on sweater sizeStitch markersStitch holdersDarning needle \n\n\n\n689-2070 yards DK weight yarn\, depending on size. If you would like to add length to your sweater\, you will need more yardage.   \n\n\n\nThe pattern calls for fingering weight yarn and mohair held together\, but for the sake of ease when knitting your first garment\, we recommend just using one strand of DK weight yarn\, which gets the same gauge.
