SUMMARY:Learn to Knit Marlisle: Project Bomen Mittens
DESCRIPTION:Sign Up Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClasses are on Thursdays\, Oct 19\, 26 & Nov 9. \n\n\n\nThe Bomen mittens are a beautiful example of how to work multiple types of colorwork in one project. This class is an introduction to marlisle\, where two colors of yarn are held together\, as well as Stranded colorwork\, where each yarn is used separately. The majority of the project is worked in Marlisle\, with stranded colorwork dispersed in the trees and Corrugated Ribbing. This class will also help teach you how to read charted colorwork and work a basic cable to outline the trees.       \n\n\n\nThe designer\, Anna Maltz\, says “These cozy mittens are designed as a twinned pair – in that the left and right hand clearly go together\, but they each have a different tree on them – to start hinting at the beautiful and essential diversity of forests. Bomen means trees in Dutch\, but also chatting.”   \n\n\n\nPlease Complete your Swatch prior to the start of class.  \n\n\n\nLevel:  Intermediate \n\n\n\nSkills Required: Knit and Purl\, how to work in the round using Magic Loop Method\, and basic experience reading patterns.   \n\n\n\nMaterials: Bomen pattern by Anna Maltz4mm (US6) and 4.5mm (US7) 32”-40” needles\, or size needed to obtain gaugeStitch markersTapestry needleApproximately 185 yards each of two fingering-sport weight yarns.Recommended yarn:  Cricket by Kelbourne Woolens
